Viper Radio Improvement

I was less than happy with my factory radio - just as I thought I'd be. I don't listen to it much - would rather hear my Viper than the radio - but when I do, I would like it to sound decent.

I watched the Viper Video that's tucked behind the driver's seat yesterday and it had info on adjusting the tone controls...

Well, this morning I discovered my radio was set to +6 on the bass and -3 on the treble. THAT explains why the bass was boomy and there was no high end.

I set the bass to +3 and the treble to 0 and the radio now sounds decent to maybe even good.

I haven't watched that video in nearly a year. Did you happen to notice any settings that would increase HP?

CitySnake - The Viper Video also said "In 5 years get a Sean Roe Supercharger to increase horsepower". The Video was made at the end of the '97 production run and the beginning of the '98 production run, so 5 years is right around the start of the 2003 production run. I guess that explains why Sean Roe won't be shipping out the production supercharger units until right around VOI 7 (when the SRT-10 is shipped to the lucky public).

The only things that ***** about the sound system is

1) There is no scan,

2) The search mode must be entered by holding the tune bar in something like 1 second but not longer than 2 second. (If less than 1 second, you just get the next .2 mHz, if over 2 seconds, you go into fast tune and blow by the next station.)

This modality was designed by a *****.

3) No CD changer! And the SRT only has a 6CD changer. Not even 10 or 12. Should have set a new standard with 20...

The sound and power of the stock system is just fine in my book.
