Not much to talk about in the way of speed. We did have a great time and I got to put a few usernames with their faces. Very nice people indeed.
There were 3 classes. STOCK, Street Tire(must be factory tires), and Unlimited. We wanted to race in both the street tire, and unlimited(king of the hill) classes.
Here is a recap of our runs----run,
First run off of the trailer was an 11.04 at 132.4 on Pilots. A typical warm up pass to feel out the track....which was unprepped but held somewhat. Came back around and launched harder (1.85 60') and the NOS solenoids did not engage, just fuel enrichment. After a short troubleshooting session it proved to be a failure of the WOT switch(a $5.00 part) of which I did not have a spare. The switch continued to send bogus TPS signals to the computer keeping us from achieving actual WOT so we packed up and watched the rest of the day. Never got to mount our slicks.
That one run held up for the quickest e.t. on street tires even though it was far from my personal best. I believe that the quickest run of the day in unlimited was 10.79 and Im not sure of the MPH on that pass, and Im sorry but I can't remember the gentlemans name. He had a very clean silver GTS with mods including NOS.
Thanks to Doug Levin for the hospitality and Trophys for all classes. He should get the "hard luck" award. He did beat a Pantera that was in attendance for the FORD event that was going on......and I have it on video!
Scott P., im looking forward to this coming weekend in orlando as we go on the Supra Hunt, Speedworld dragway TT friday nite then on to Gandy Saturday.
MES, good to meet you in person, you too! FL Johnny.
I hope everyone made it home OK, and I look forward to coming down again.........even if I seem JINXED at that track.(my 8 second dart never hooks there, I spun out my viper on their roadcoarse, been kicked out of tech twice, and had a switch fail that has worked perfectly for over 2 years!)
