Hey everyone,

Basically, My main purpose in this post is to get some information and advice. I have driven a gen 1 Viper before, loved the car, looks, EVERYTHING, and decided to buy one. I currently have a Final Edition on order. Just wondering, is there any big changes in the car that I should take notice of before driving? or would it be like a 30 second adjustment? Any "hidden" things on the car that I should know of? (alarm, releases, etc) I dont have a lot of experience with gen 2, other than seeing them. But, if it's the same or better than gen 1(which I know it is) I'm all for it. Basically, I'm just looking for a "heads up" on everything I should look for and notice.

Also, anything/places specifically I should look for while inspecting the car before I sign my lif...err...name on the line?

Thanks!

Pedals are adjustable up to 4" (knob to adjust them is under the steering column)

Be aware of the 1-4 skip shift.

Your "owners video" is behind the drivers seat (it will explain how to open hood)

Close hood with hands above the hood hinges. (different from video)

Check oil regularly and follow the break in process.

HAVE FUN!

- Expect the ABS
- Window controls above shifter
- Glove box behind elbow
- Throw floormats away (they are evil)

And the mopar bra is fine, I use one...

Definitely ditch the cue ball shifter (but save it somewhere especially since the 360 final ed have that unique red stitching)

While you're ordering the MGW shifter (mgwltd.com), if you want to do some minor interior trim upgrades, take a look at their a/c knobs, ahstray-converter-to-coin-holder, storage door replacement, and maybe a license plate frame. Nice stuff.

Unless you like to gamble with your paint finish, best to tell dealer not to wash/wax exterior and just leave it for your hands and your Zaino polish (zainobros.com).

Order floormats from No Calif Viper Club http://www.viperclub.org/regions/norcal

Dan,
Also go with the sean roe clutch link only $25 and greatly
reduces the throw of the clutch to about 1/2 of the original.

Wanted to get together this week and the forcast is calling for rain most of the week. figures.

Advice for a new GTS buyer???

Uhh, watch out for SRT's???

Seriously, enjoy the car - your break in idea sounds fine. Remove visors if tall. Do exhaust change quick (stock unit sounds ***).
