I was at the Barrett-Jackson auto auction in Scottsdale, AZ. last Jan...over a 1000 cars on hand (no reserves), and not one Viper in sight!

Anyway, it was obvious that Muscle/Pony cars and some Vettes that had unusual and/or limited order options, (ie: power upgrades, radio deletes, color combos, rears, etc etc), 'factory built sheets', special provenience, etc, all commanded a healthy price premium...even in this down market. Also, along the same lines, were cars modified at the dealer, like the famous Yenko Cameros, etc.

All that being said, regarding the Viper, would the MOPAR power options offered on the GEN 4's (don't know if they were offered on previous gens) factory or dealer installed, command a premium at resale or auction?...and how many Gen 4's were ordered with the 'full boat' of these options...if any?

Are there any Dodge dealers (similar to the former Yenko Chevy dealer...who put there name on the cars they sold modified) that modify in house the Viper (engines, suspensions, interiors, etc), and if so, has anyone done this?

Lastly, has Dodge made any Vipers (other than the recent Lutz Viper raffled here) that are limited produced, never registered, factory made/modified cars for racing (?)...such as the special made Mustang Cobra Jet (10 were made), which I saw at the auction that went for $450k...which by the way, was suitable to be registered for street use.

P/S: I'll be looking hard for any Vipers at the auction this coming JAn.

Bill Pemberton and I have always wanted to put out the Woodhouse Edition Viper that we have sold so many of over the years. We modify about 90 new Vipers a year before they are delivered to customers along with the 200-350 other Vipers we get through my shop. It would be great if this was something that would be worth more in the future, Let us know if that is something you really want and we can push harder for it!

:rolaugh: Andrew,

We are the largest Viper SRT dealer in the land and on top of all the new Vipers we sell we have almost as many used ones come through here. Then there are the 50 plus Vipers a year that drive here or have them trailered to my shop for modifications and services.

Then there are all the Hurst cars and SRT vehicles that we also sell and modify as well. Over 500 total each year. I have been here for 6 and a half years and 07' was the only year that number was under 500 (453), so yes we have seen a LOT of cars. :headbang:

You would need to contact Bill Pemberton to answer your car question as I do not do car sales.

Will do!!! Thanks Mark!!! Wish I knew all this before I got my Copperhead. Not that I wouldn't have bought the one I did, but it probably would have been a much easier road to finding one.

I think I might be able to get the T&C shipped out there when the boss has the baby. I'm thinking a Keith Black Hemi and 14-71 blower?!?!?!?!?!

I would guess that in order to gain big future values (25 times cost over 40 yrs, like the Yenko's), not to mention the fame/value for the Woodhouse name, you would have to have a way to order from the factory a modified/warranted (probably some other agreements also like exclusivity) Viper to your specs, (like Yenko did with Chevy's COPO program, used for ordering modified cars like police/taxis etc), and then dress them up a bit at your dealership and offer for sale. Probably not worth all the effort anymore, due to copycats, and all the tuners out there...but a "Woodhouse Edition", with some special dealer installed/provided mods, should increase your profits and bolster your name further...as it seems approx 30pct of your annual Vipers sold, are already modded to some extent. Keep in mind, people who buy limited production vehicles...love to be special :)

Dodge Viper Historical Society Photo Gallery - 96 RT/10 Black / Silver Shelby Edition

"Only 25 of these cars were built between 1995 and 1996. It is unknown how many RT/10 or GTS cars were made out the 25 total cars produced.

So far, Black, Red and White Shelby Vipers are known to exist.

All Shelby Vipers were built at Fitzgerald Motorsports in New Hampshire.

Carroll Shelby's signature can be found on the glove box door, sail panel, or front fender."

Other Vipers that will pop up in the future as being extremely rare are the 10 Daytona Editions done with authorization by the Speedway to commerate the 2000 Viper Overall Win at Daytona. Currently two of the cars are in England, and rumors are another may be headed over there, which would only leave 7 in the US.

The Hurst/Woodhouse 50th Anniversary Edition Viper will be done in extremely limited numbers, just for the reason so many want a unique machine and it is highly unlikely many more than maybe 10 will ever be built --- at present none are even the same.

As noted earlier there were around 25 Shelby Vipers built, but that was the maximum number, and it would be good to verify, as I have often heard that only 20 ever got completed.

With the last of the Gen IVs for 2010, it is quite likely there will be some machines done in small numbers , so the unique Viper numbers will likely continue.

One often forgets the VCA Raffle cars, which many think will later become the most valuable Vipers ever, as they are virtually all one offs and heavily documented.

Respectfully Submitted,
Bill Pemberton

Very nice...missed it at B-J! Flat gold/blk at $275k. Googled the car ,and it said 50 will be made in either blk/gld or wht/gld and available from Woodhouse. Any left, which ones, how much...and has W/H done anything to the vehicle themselves? Tks.

Barrett-Jackson was super cool and did not charge the buyer their fee, so more money would go to the Victory Junction Camp --- we sent them 125K.

There is one white Snake here that could become one with gold stripes, and we do the suspension and other mods , prior to it going to Hurst who finishes off the paint, the tires, rims, interior, badging, mats, cover, documentaion and more.

andrew, you have no idea.... woodhouse sells a ton. their shop and viper pit is amazing. I dont know if its true but i was told woodhouse sells more vipers in NJ than any nj dodge dealer does.

i think a special woodhouse viper would go over well and maybe hold some value. similar to the grand spaulding doges/mr norms cars of past
