Tommy Archer again is showing fairly strong after the Qualifying for tommorrow's World Challenge Race at Infineon ended earlier today. The Vipers were required to add restrictor plates and with the 100 lbs . added from last year , it is amazing the Comp Coupes are still doing so well. With so many Teams running high dollar one offs, the Spec Car from Dodge Motorsports/SRT is absolutely surprising to me. One can only wonder what would happen if they were give just a few assists like Audi or GM. Running the dinky little 275s up front on a heavy car and still being competitive on arguably budget racer ( in this league ), a little ability to get some rubber and be able to change gears like the rest of the folks, could put the Snake at the top of the heap. Oh, well, the scuttle-butt figured the Vettes would benefit most from the changes , and with McClure on the Pole and Reese at third ,it appears the pundits were correct.
Here's how our boys faired, and check out the race tommorrow at 1 pm ( EST ) on Speed Channel --- the Touring race is right before it ( Saturday's race ) and the Touring cars will showcase a 2nd weekend race at 6 pm EST.
