Well, according to this guy anyways: ;)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006...oryZ6209QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

He claims "949 HP" but the ad says it makes 704 rwhp. That means the Viper has a 26% drivetrain loss in his overquoted crank HP figure.

704 rwhp, figuring the typical 12-15% drivetrain loss would mean the car is actually putting out around 800-828 HP. Where did the 949 HP figure come from?

BTW, my stock Escalade puts out 800 HP, but I have a 65% drivetrain loss. :lmao:

Figured you guys would have some fun with the overquoted chest-thumping sales claims :)

Well, with the "factory installed intercooled supercharger", "remote cruise control feature" and "slightly similiar to the picture listed"...this Viper is one of a kind. *** does "Slightly SIMILIAR TO PICTURE" mean???

I'm guessing he spent all the money on the missing 150 hp he paid for, and couldn't buy a camera to take pics of the actual car.

lol

The seller responded to my inquiry:

"The bottom line is what the power is at the rear wheels, but
every Dynomometer has different results. With the Dyno that
was used prior to the upgrades, using the same conversion loss,
recalculated to 949. Different dynos will read differently,
however, the true number is the 704 rear wheel horsepower. DC
Performance, Dan Craigen performed the work. Ask anyone in
the United States who works on Vipers, and they will know who
he is. In not just my opinion, he is the best there is."

So I guess he's saying that the car dynoed 330hp stock (a 26% loss from 450).
