I had thought you just had to own a viper to go, but I think I read now that you have to be a vca member too? Then why is it viper owners invitational? Shouldn't it be VCAOI?

Absolutely nowhere does it say you need to be a VCA Member to go. VCA members get priority mailing to be INVITED to VOI as it makes sense as Dodge has good access to the VCA membership listing (always current Viper owners), and historically, VCA members have been the most involved with the Viper community.

Also, getting to every Viper owner is a difficult task, as lots of times, as cars trade hands, records are not updated, etc.

So why do you think it's a members only event?

i think that because this is plastered on the vca homepage...

VCA Members can register now at the official VOI web site: voi7.com (You'll need your VIN and your VCA membership number to complete the registration process), or if you like talking on the phone, call toll free at 866-864-2003 and request a registration package

so, i need a member number to register.. if it says otherwise on www.voi7.com, then i'm sorry. I never checked it out because it's plain as day right there so i felt no need for me to research any further..

You do not have to be a VCA member to go to VOI. The VCA membership is handled by JR Thompson, they also manage the VOI event.
Again you do not need to be a VCA member, all Viper owners are welcome.

USAF - The the homepage here needs to be changed. If you are a member, then the form on www.voi7.com askfor your membership number; if not, then the form goes on without asking.

Sorry for the confusion - usually VCA members DO get first dibs on attendance, but its not a requirement.
