I spoke with a guy who suggested I sign up for the extended warranty for like $1,600 so that I get my name registered with Dodge. (I bought it from a broker) He indicated that If I do not get my name registered with them, then I will not get recall notices and information etc...

Does anyone agree with this?

1. What is the extended warranty do that is not covered in the 7/70?
2. Can I register my VIN with Dodge without having to get the Warranty?
3. How can I make sure that the warranty is transferred over to me?

Thanks in advance.

I think the name transfer would occur during your first service visit at a Dodge dealership. At your next visit ask to have them bring up your information.

You dont have to buy the warranty to get Dodge aware of your ownership.
They'll FIND you thru Polk/registartion records for recalls regardless.
Ther is probably a green postcard in your owners manual that will LET you register for free !

But you'll get info a lot faster if you do get in D-C s ststem at a Viper-Savvy dealer.

Buy the "warranty-wrap" because you bought a very expensive (and 1st- year) machine. If you keep the car 3+ years, you will be very glad you did

I would recommend calling John Gastman at Roanoke motors here in Illinois to talk about the warranty, and probably the registration. He is really a straight shooter and will give you the full story on the warranty and will also give you a very fair price on it. His number is (800)541-6858.
