my buddy marc lublin (the NY/CT street king and one of the most knowledgable viper owners)) suggested i try the water and methanol 50/50 mixture rather than the windshielf fluid. i went to the speed shop and bought VF methanol MS1 i think it was called, a racing fuel. is that the right stuff i should be mixing with distilled water? i was told one gallon **** and one gallon distilled waster to raise my octane level. i got the stuff but havent put it in the tank yet and like to try it out tonight. thanks

yes. Mix 1 to 1. Expect your A/F ratio to be dramatically affected (1-2 pt change) in the richer direction. you may LOSE power until you re-tune. but this is a good thing to do.

good luck!

Hi Dimitrios!
Bye the way. What kind of cam you use? Is it original viper cam?

Thanks Mika

You always have to retune whenever you make changes, but this raise in octane with help with some of the detonation problems you were having before you ******** the timing. Now dump this mixture in and start adding advance until you get to the detonation point and back off a little and there you go, instant HP!
Oh and thanks for the props!

D -

Or if you send me your VEC2 program, i'd be happy to make some suggested changes. or Sean would do just the same. Of course, it isn't my name on the VEC... it's his. It ain't DELL racing. LOL!

Thank g-d for that!

There's a small oil company close to the local dragstrip that sells pure methanol out of a pump for $2.30/gallon. I just got three 5 gallon fuel jugs from Summit Racing and will soon be getting 15 gallon bottles of distilled water. I'll mix these 50-50% in my Roe water/methanol tanks (I now will have 2 tanks.)

My Viper is almost completed at Macedo Motorsports and I hope to be picking it up in two weeks.

Or sooner. :D

New pistons, new fuel system, new cam, Jeff Morys Striker heads, 10 pound pulley, titanium half shafts, a bunch more smaller stuff, & safety equipment. Still waiting on roll bars to be fabricated and titanium half shafts to arrive at Macedo Motorsports, but these could be installed here in Ohio.

the results you will get from washer fluid to race **** is night and day. why not just get a wideband and tune on the fly? i think depending on the amount of **** you are going to spray, you will see huge differences from street tuning and dyno tuning.

Larry does great work. He just installed water/**** on my car. The car always comes back perfect. No issues or check engine lights on. Ever!
Did your motor go or did you just decide its time to rebuild?
How much rwhp are you estimating?

Motor was perfect - just wanted super reliable daily driver with a little more power, but got bit hard and am getting the Jeff Morys Striker heads and one thing led to another...

Guessing the rear wheel horsepower to be from high 700's to mid-800's.

Whatever it ends up it will be ultra reliable and plenty powerful.
