Weird noise at ~160+??

Had a recent high speed open track session, and heard a sound I recall from my previous open track session - it sounds sort of like fine gravel getting kicked up, and only occurs at those speeds - any ideas?

Wow, Never heard that before... at 175mph I hear a very loud
boom... sorta like the kind of noise I would hear when a low
flying fighter jet would go overhead... BOOOM

When I had my SC 93 vette that sound would occur when I was getting detonation.

Umm, this is more of a spontaneous sort of track session...

Could that problem only arise at high speeds?
