What are Gen-I\'s Control Arms made of?

I searched and didn't find anything relevent. Gen-II's have cast aluminum control arms, but what do Gen-I's have? And are they swappable if different?

Steel painted to make them look like they are aluminum.

Can they be swapped with the aluminum ones?

No you can't swap them with a GEN2 because of the different geometry (different length and shape.) You CAN swap them with a Dodge Dakota!

LOL as nutty as that sounds it's true for the front upper arms, lowers are a nogo, but the steering rack does swap over as well.

The Gen1 lower wishbones are fabricated from tubular steel, riveted, welded, then hot-dip galvanized for corrosion protection. The front upper wishbones are indeed from a Dakota pickup, but they are also galvanized.

I think the length and geometry of the Gen 1 front arms is such that they can be swapped with Gen 2. People have done the uppers already and because the Gen 2 lower bushings are not as wide, you'll need some spacer-washers to take up the gap when you tightly the cam-bolt. Lastly, the Gen 2 lower shock mount is different, so you'll need the shorter Gen 2 shocks.
