What are the best 17\" and 18\" tires available for strip and street

What kind of results have you had using other tiers than stock michelins for strip and street in 17" or 18"? What are the 60' times. Can they be used as a daily tire as well? Looking forward to your comments. Tim

Pireli P-zeros are now SOFTER than Pilot Sports

Kumhos are very cheap and sticky, but no road-hazard protection.

Kumhos are only available in 17" but they are much better on the street than sports. On the drag strip I've not had much luck with Kumhos (other have) Best thing with the Kumhos you don't kill your handling like a drag radial would. They are very soft with a 50 tread wear rating (yes fifty) push you finger into the tread and it makes a dent. Sports up front and Kumhos in the back work great, and it don't seem to be a problem mixing the two tires. I have about 1,000 miles and ten 1/4 mile runs on them now and not had any problems.

Kumhos work for me also. 1.69 60 ft with 35 lbs in them at 10.68. and drive them every day. Will last about 7 to 10,000 miles.

On a side note, make sure and buy some of the clear 3m tape and put it on the lower edge of your qtr. panel lips. Kumhos are sticky when hot and will throw enough rocks ect.. to blast the paint off

Lee, are you running Kuhmos on all 4 corners?
What sizes?
Also where did you get the 3m plastic tape? It seems on previous posts that I've seen that it is very expensive.
Does it do a really good protection job or do the rocks dent through the tape? Does it peel off through usage or will it stick until taken off?
Thanks

Auto paint supply store. Yes it stays good make sure surface is clean and wax free. No problem peeling so far. It is pricey but worth it.
