After the engine compartment is all clean and dry, what are you guys using to "dress" the hoses, wire looms, etc. Is there a product that could be sprayed and left vs. having to wipe all the nook and crannies? Is using a tire foam for this a good idea or would the high temps create a problem.

WD-40, VERY lightly sprayed. Doesn't leave any residue, etc. Great for protecting hardware and wires also... Great right before a car show.

Coming from an old car show guy: avoid using any types of "oily" products as they will only attract more dirt. The only place I use a dressing under the hood is one hoses and the plastic fenderliners. (And I use Zaino tire dressing.) I wipe the engine off with a soft towel dampened with glass cleaner or water. The dressings look great when sprayed all over..but after a dusty showfield or a quick drive...it can be a real mess.

I keep mine looking brand new with an old detailers trick (aka used car trick) after cleaning the engine compartment spray Armor All on everthing under the hood, let sit for 5 or 10 min. Then spray the engine compart ment down with the hose. When it drys it will look brand new........And no oily residue......
