Been in contact with Jerry at Autoform and also Von Genaddi about a custom real convertible for my 96 rt/10.. One that folds in and out from inside the car. Of course it would be a prototype, one of a kind. Is this necessarily a bad idea?

Someone did it a couple of years ago..... I had the site saved, but they are no longer doing these.

The cost of the conversion was like $11,000USD???

I've looked at the car and it is doable.... I was talking with a friend about it.

My approach is going to be to come up with an easy to use emergency top that fits in the trunk. I am working on some designs.... it seems that the folks who were working on it have stopped.

I used to have a Z28 Custom Camaro that had the rear seat removed and the trucklid would open, you would manually pull the hardtop into position, latch it, and then close the decklid. Once I forgot to latch the top and gunned it and had the hardtop crash into the trucklid. Wasn't too smart at the time. Still not too smart currently.
