What does NACA stand for ???

Just wondering what the NACA stands for when talking about the ducts in the Hoods..........I hope this isn't too stupid of a question. I did a search on it, and came up empty.

Hehehe.. No, NACA apears on much more than just a viper.

The way I remember it, the NACA duct is the result of a scientific study, by NACA, to determine the best way to bring air into the skin of an aircraft without a scoop sticking out into the airstream. I work around military jets and I see these ducts all over them.
