What happened?

Car was running great (maybe the best ever), then I took it to the car wash where I sprayed it down hand washed it and dried it off. Ever since, it's sputtering like crazy and it's very loud. Could I have sprayed water up the tail pipe and if so, what has actually and do you think it's permanent?

You probably got some water/soap in your spark plug wires. Either on the coil side near the windshield or on the spark plugs. By now it's probably baked on and may be difficult to remove, try cleaning the contacts.
