What is the reccomended Break-In Process for new Forged Pistons ?

Is there a reccomended break-in process/period for a Viper with new Forged Pistons ?

I'm not sure what the official process is, but I put a few miles on my motor (like 500 miles) and then changed the oil. oh yeah... don't use synthetic on a new motor... 1st oil change can be synthetic.

It all depends on the rings and how the honing process been done.

As long as you don't use synthetic oil for the first 500 miles.

Which brings up a related subject:
Can you put '96-'97 forged pistons in a cast piston Viper, or do you have to go to the aftermarket?
And, can forged pistons from either source just drop in after some maybe some honing?
If it's a low mile cast piston car is honing necessary? The rings and cylinders seal was ok before it was taken apart..

use convencienal motor oil for the first 500-1000 miles and don't just baby the motor pick different rpms to cruz at ie 3500 for a little 2500 for a little while and moving up and down the rpm band. change the oil and your good to go.
