Any suggestions as the car is a 2000 GTS with 6k miles under warranty and everytime I take it out for more than 5 minutes the brakes squeal at every light. Dealer says this is normal. I say not if your the one driving it.

A popular recommendation will probably be to switch to EBC Green brake pads.

I've got the same problem, happens often at low speeds, 5-10 mph, when lightly applying the brakes, got EBC greens on the way hopefully to solve the problem (less brake dust as well) Don't notice it under heavy braking

Ensure you buy a 3" disc to sand the rotors before installing the Greens. I used the 3M rotor resurfacing kit. Hooks to a drill and was VERY easy. Did front rotors on the car and rears easily come off. This was the first time I did this and the service manual was perfect.
Dust with Greens for the first few drives but nothing now(they had to break in) and no noise.

Agree with Chuck. Get the EBC's and be done with it!!

Simple solution:Brake a little later and put more pressure on the middle pedal.I haven't heard a brake squeak after the 2nd week I drove it.Changing to a different pad is completely unnecessary and throwing money down the toilet. Bruce

My brakes have ALWAYS squeeled when they are cold. Thats why I'm going to put on the EBC greens...very soon.

Check with Scott at Elite Motorsports of Tampa. He's installed pads, Proline I think,on 2 of my cars now and they are great. 1/10th the dust(2 weeks shows same as 1 day w/ stock), and they don't squeal at all. I think his site is www.vipersbyelite.com Good luck.
