Go to the Summit Racing catalog and the Mustang section, the 255 GPH is the correct Walbro.

That is it, you will have to reverse the two pin connections to get the correct polarity. To open the bottle is kind of tricky, two long thin screw drivers will open the locking tabs. The next trick is to somehow make up the 1/2" difference in height (the 255 is 1/2" shorter). You either have to make up a neoprene spacer or collapse the bottle another 1/2".

If someone has a trick way to make the 255 fit please pass it on to the rest of us.

So jack,

Are you saying that the - input from the Viper needs to be put on the + side of the pump and the + from the Viper to the - side of the pump?

Where do you need to put the spacer at? Is the spacer to hold the pump in place? Or is the pump too short to reach the the outlet tube? If that is the case, why wouldn't a longer rubber fuel tube work?

Man, pictures would be awesome for us dummies! :D

The Mustang plug has the polarity reversed. The connector pins are easily switched.

The bottle is two pieces. When put together there is a fixed bottle height. That vertical dimension locks the pump in place. Since the new pump is a bit shorter, that creates the problem. I did the job during the summer and did not want to be down. If I had the time I would have had a neoprene spacer machined to make up the difference. The spacer would be put under the pump inlet port.

Once again, anyone have a better way.
