Wheel and tire storage question

What is the best way to store an extra set of wheels and tires? Can they be stacked safely?

The most efficient method of storage would be to sell them to me???

Just kidding. In light of recent threads.... I'd say that you will probably not be able to save the tires.... but rather I would dismount the tires from the wheels, store the wheels in the boxes your new wheels arrived in... and store the tires in a cool dry area.
