Hello, I am a new Viper owner. I get an excessive amount of wheel hop when the tires spin, especially in 1st gear. What is the problem? It feels like the car is going to fall apart. 97 rt/10. 11,000 miles, all stock motor, drive train, wheels and tires. Thanks. :bonker: :curse:

Here are some issues to consider:

1. Tires.

2. Temperature.

3. The education of the foot.

4. The amount of toe in the rear.

Additionally, a bad shock absorber can also cause wheel hop.

Three years ago I had bad wheel hop. Checked this, checked that,No help at all. Bought new tires for the rear even though I still had good tread on the old ones. 90% of wheel hop is gone. Now only on cold days I'll get a little shutter but no hop.

Also check tranny mount - mine was broken and made a loud bang noise when I would accelerate. Now, the noise is back during hard accerleration - from stop or roll - so I am thinking it's either bad engine mount or loose exhaust.

Mine makes the same noise, I was told it was the 4 bolts on the rear diff that need to be tightened.
