Have you thought about any particular year that you want. Do you want bone stock, or some modifications? What about mileage? It's a tough decision, I too am looking for a Viper to buy, and I want to keep my price under $40K....since I do not want to have to sell my other "toys".
I have found that 1994 and 1995 are more likely to be in the $30K to $35K range in asking price (but I have not actually gotten into negotiations yet). Also, some 1996's are just at the $40K (or a little under) but they typically have mileage in the 30,000 range at that price.
Check autotrader, but I have an the pickin's are slim there. The classifieds here have more selection, but the asking prices are higher...these guys know what they have and won't give it away!
Good luck, I am hoping to be in a Viper by the end of 1st Quarter 2002.
Anyone want to buy a 1989 Jaguar XJ-S Convertible

I would agree with BAKNBLK95RT you will be hard pressed to find a 94 or 95 RT-10 for under 35k. Im am just basing this on my search about 6 months ago, the only one I found under 35 k had been in a wreck and been repaired (the owner was cool and did tell me it was wrecked).
To find one with descent miles and in good shape you will more and likely be looking between 35K and 40K.
Either way good luck finding one and at the time I was looking autotrader.com was very helpful in me finding my car and selling my old car.

Correction. I have a 1994 Viper RT/10 with 27,000 miles for sale on the Viper Club Classifieds for $34,900 on clean title not wrecked AND it has a new parts rebuilt transmission from Jon B @ Partsrack. Give me a call if you would like to buy the car.

Thanks

You guys must have been reading in the wrong places. There are tons of vipers near that range, from 36, to 39k. You just have to look in different places and NEGOTIATE. My last 94, bought in 1999 was 4.5k miles and PERFECT.Asking 42. Bought for 38k. Asking prices and actual prices are two different things. Pick up the phone and call the person. A 10% negotiation "ain't" nothing... "Grow a pair!"

Come Spring, the prices will rise.....

I see it every year. The Viper is more of a fair weather car (particularly side curtain RT/10's) than nearly any car on the planet. When the warm winds of spring begin to blow.... minds of young men turn to.... open air motoring in a Viper

Demand increases, supply dwindles, and prices rise. Dec, Jan, Feb are always "Deal Time".

Gerald is Right! Grow a pair and negotiate! Asking prices will come down more than you expect if you push the issue! Especially, this time of year!
You can't negotiate with Ebay, but their prices are low. But you must protect yourself by doing your homework and asking the right questions!
All the other classifieds, you buy when you agree on a price!!
