Jeff make sure you get a SNELL approved helmet. There are many tracks which will not accept DOT helmets, and they do actually check your helmet. There are also tracks which do not allow motorcycle helmets even though they are SNELL approved.

There are others here who can share their personal experiences better than I.

Bill- Were talking autocross here. So I take out a few cones, big deal. It's just so much fun driving with the 3.55 gears. I have no intention of competing (winning) in this event, very green. That's how it starts huh? A little autocross, a little 1/4 mile action, A Viper Day...
* Sold the car, sorry to hear. Going to miss seeing you.
Thanks for the info guys!

A Snell "SA" rating defines automobile racing designed versus "M" designation for motorcycles. "SA2000" is the latest Snell certification, so try to purchase this to keep it "current" for a longer period of time.
www.helmetcity.com offers VCA a 10% discount , and helmets start at around $299 without the VCA discount for a Bell Sport II (Black or White)

You can also try www.racerwholesale.com . They carry G-force, and Bell, and also carry a great variety of driving suits, shoes, etc.
