steemin,

Get a low mileage 99 RT/10, They are the best (see avitar)and you still get the "lumpy" cam. You can still find them with alittle factory warranty left and then get the extended warranty. Call Woodhouse and talk to Bill P., he will find your car (www.woodhouse.com)...

I had the same issue...

Also - add a few others for the new... (luxury tax, gas guzzler tax, etc...). More expensive yes - but having the new car smell and knowing that there were no worries about a previous owner...

But, you mentioned that you tade every couple years - so maybe used is your gig...

I would STRONGLY urge you to drive both these cars!

I had a 98 GTS and my friend got a 2002 GTS. When I drove his car it was like night and day. Mine was loud, twitchy, rock hard clutch and shifter, stiff gas pedal, and very stiff suspension.

His 2002 was smooth as butter. Shifter was like something out of a BMW, clutch was super-soft, gas pedal was light as a feather, and it seemed to ride much softer too - maybe the 18" wheels or something.

Anyways, I think the biggest difference is going to be in how the car feels. If you want a monster car, the older one is better for modifying, IMO. The newer cars will always be more refined however.

If you plan on leaving it mostly stock and not beating it up on a track and you're not planning on keeping it more than a few years, why not see what kind of deal you can get on a short term lease on the new one? Assuming of course that you are planning to finance the car in some fashion rather than buying outright.

Been there! I bought new 1st time, used last time. Bought used because of the color Silver not being available new.
But the resale value played a role for me also, as I tend to change vehicles alot also. Although, I will always have a Viper now!
Mike brought up some nice points on the new cars though. I just prefer the lumpy cam! Also, evern though I bought used, my car had only been put into service for a year, so I have 2 years left of original 3/36k warranty, and will buy extended later!
arrant is a must in my opinion!
In regards to finding a car near you! Can be a little troublesome, but I actually enjoyed having my cars taken off the trailer in my driveway!!

Good luck! You can't go wrong either way!
