Unless you've had a Roe also (which as far as I know is the only other DIY kit out there), why would you phrase this this way? I wouldn't expect you to recommend it if you haven't tried it, but I don't see what basis you have for saying not to buy one either. And you've posted your "warning" in four different threads now for maximum exposure but still have no details to offer?

Guys,

Ok, first the PART ABOUT recommand ANY SuperCharger DIY kit is that FOLKS that are reading this feeling the next thing to ask me is if I RECOMMEND Roe. I am saying I am not recommending ANY DIY kit. Thats all, why does it mean I am bashing anyone ?

The "secret" is that other partys are involved, and until its cleared up, I chose not to go into detail.

So would you RATHER me not saying ANYTHING at all ? And let others keep buying the kit ? Or express my OPINION that folks should hold off for now ?

Calling me out, when ALL I am trying to do is HELP?? I am asking people to hold on while I get things straighten out, this ONLY potentially benefits them. I have NOTHING TO GAIN or LOSE if you chose to go one way or the other.

SORRY, I was just trying to help the family as I would hope OTHERS would do when faced with a situation such as mine.

Give it a little time. I posted in ANY thread I had interactions with regarding PAXTON, as I want to make sure no one goes down the "PAXTON PATH" based on any post of mine.

Thank you.

Jon

probably worried about a lawsuit...

just say "it seems.... I found.... apparently.... allegedly..." get it?

besides all that - newsflash - anyone who ever thought a bolt on sc kit for the Viper would ever match a highly skilled tuner's custom package was always dreaming. That's reality.

For those considering but not yet bought a SC kit of any make..... unless you are the real handyman engine guru - do yourself a favor and pay for a top tuner to install it.

Oh - that will elevate the cost to tuner package levels? Well that gives you more choices then doesn't it - but the "sub $10k installed everything is perfect" scenario is probably not going to be your experience... but then I could be wrong - and it is your money so why not risk it? It's only money - just go and make some more right?

DIY is for those who love to learn and don't mind making mistakes along the way.... it invariably works out more expensive than a sorted tuner package, but at least the owner has the satisfaction of having done it themselves.... whatever that is worth

no flame on anyone....

leaving now :p

Jon,
Appreciate what you're trying to do. You, AB and the other Paxton owners keep the rest of us posted if there are facts that need to be brought to light regarding the Paxton kit. We are all curious now, but facts are better than speculation.

Thanks guys, I didnt do this for DRAMA, I hate drama. I have everything to lose as people are going to bash me over this. I did this for the Viper Family. Just please give me the latitude to put it all together. I could have kept quiet, and lost nothing.

Does your concern include the Roe kit and for the same reasons?

Can I quote myself here ??

"Guys,

Thanks.

Are we still talking about 00-02 Vipers or are we talking about all Vipers?

DYI is exactly why I spend the extra $$$$$ and let
Racing Solutions Inc.
have the headache or take the credit.
They guarantee and stand behind the work also I do not have to worry about the "ALERT" type of post no matter what.

Good luck
or
great job, either one.

You don't appear to understand the implication of your words. By saying you are "not recommending" something, it implies people shouldn't buy it, because if it were worth buying, you would "recommend" it. Any of us could say about any Viper product we've never bought, "I don't recommend it," meaning we don't have any basis to recommend it OR any basis to recommend against it. Perhaps that's even what you meant. But if you have no basis to recommend against it, why mention it all? So I ask once again, why include a generalization about all DIY kits (meaning Roe), if your only experience is with Paxton?

Waaaay to many factors involved when installing an SC to even consider it a DIY project.

Thats why guys like Heffner and DLM charge a min of $15 K to install an SC kit.

Cheers

Jeff

Let's all not jump to conclusions here. I am just asking a simple question who has one that is in that year and range. I don't know how this thread got out of hand. If you have questions, you can email me for now. DYI are not bad if the kits are done right and you have the support of the vendor behind you.

I will say this, the car did have a prob (2000). It melted a piston, but this was after the ****** from unichip put it on the dyno and leaned the crap out of it. Kaboom!. This is also the car that paxton designed the system on. In other words, this car was shipped to their shop and they spent 1 year fabricating the system for vipers using this car. It looks like no other paxton sc kit out there. Not polished, has a huge I.C. plus other things that they did not include in the kit. It has some fancy plaque-yippie.... that paxton installed with the H.P. numbers and torque numbers. The car was fine until the previous owner decided to add a unichip. This is when all hell broke loose. Should have left well enough alone. Car had over 18,000 miles on it w\S.C at that time.
