Why are Vipers in ads/shows always the OLD style?

Every time I see a Viper in an ad or on a television show, it's the old body style (with sidepipes). Cant anyone afford to use a newer Viper?

There's an ad running in all the computer magazine with a fuzzy Viper in the background... Couldnt they use a car manufactured in the last, like, 5 years? Or is it that stock photography is just so out of date. (Hey, maybe I need to send my photos to some stock agencies!)

just saw a comercial in sprots car november 2001 issue. on the inside cover is an advertisment for Matchbox. an officer is holding a radar gun on a gen 3 coupe. the caption reads
"only you will know it a replica". great add. i guess this is a hint of things to come.
