Will the OEM Chrysler locking gas cap fit on Viper GTS?

HAVEN'T TRIED THE OEM CAP BUT I DID BUY A LOCKING GAS CAP FOR MY VIPER FROM AUTOZONE. SEVERAL OF THE GUYS HERE IN THE HOUSTON CLUB WENT THERE AND TOLD ME IT WAS A GREAT LITTLE ADD - ON. IT WORKED GREAT FOR A WHILE...THEN ONE NIGHT, WHEN I WAS A CLICK AWAY FROM RUNNING OUT OF GAS, I PULLED OVER TO FILL UP AND MY GAS CAP <u>WOULDN'T</u> OPEN!! I'D PUT THE KEY IN & IT WOULD UNLOCK BUT WHEN I TURNED IT TO OPEN, IT WAS STRIPPED & WOULDN'T OPEN!
I'M SITTING AT THIS GAS STATION AT 2AM IN MY VIPER W/ NO WAY TO PUT GAS IN IT & I WAS PISSED!!!!!! LONG STORY SHORT.....I HAD TO CALL A LOCKSMITH TO DRILL THE CAP OUT!
I'LL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN! THE FACTORY CAP IS JUST FINE FOR ME!

Trey, you are welcome. I took a survey and spoke with an Autozone rep and he told me that something must be wrong with you. he said "I have never heard of such a thing" BUT THEN LATER.... He went on to tell me that in some cases that the gas cap may not operate correctly between the hours of 1AM-3AM. he said quote "it depends where you have been between those hours"
