I went to start my 95 Gen 1 the other day, turned it over once and will not start. The arrow is just below the yellow on the gauge. It was around 28 outside and about 3 weeks since I had started it (I know, I know but I was away!). The battery isn't dead, just seems to be a little short of what is needed to fire the car up.

The battery is at least 2 1/2 years old and I will change it a.s.a.p. but I was wondering if anyone knew if it may start one more time once the temp gets back to around 50? It was around 45 last time I started it and had no problem. Or had any ideas? I really don't want to remove the wheel to get to it, I don't have a jack or pretty much anything here to work on the car. I want to start it one more time and get it to my tech.

Thanks!

You don't have to access the battery to jump it or charge it. Check under hood on driver's side for connection.

Same thing happened to me.

The battery is kind of a pain in a 98 GTS to get to.

I had a battery charger/jumper and I still couldn't get it to start.

I agree that a temp rise may help. Cross your fingers.

I'm pretty unforgiving on batteries. If they let me down they're pretty much history.

As far as batteries are concerned, I hate standing around Sears and such places so I usually pull the battery and go up there and trade them.

Thank goodness I am now well enough off to have another vehicle. I used to have to ride my bicycle to the Sears on South Main street in Houston while carrying the battery.

Can the battery tender be attached without accessing the battery?

On my GenII, drivers side, under the hood...by the fuse panel...the positive post, and the bolt down on the frame is a good ground...

Dunno if GenI's have this, but in my owners manual, this is where it says to "jump" the battery if necassary...

Anthony...I got my Battery Tender Jr at Batteries Plus...and I simply used the hardwire connectors that came with it, tye wrapped it in, and leave it year round...just plug in the power supply when ever I need it...

Where is the best place to get a battery tender??

The best place to get them is from a reseller on Ebay. I bought mine for $27, I think (as compared to $47 on the official website). The box was drop shipped straight from the factory!

Gen I's have the same battery jump locations. I permanently mounted a battery tender and only have to plug it in. Access to the plug is gained through the fender/hood opening without opening the hood.

Yep, like the others I also leave the leads for the battery tender, jr. on all the time. All I have to do is plug it in from the wheel well.

This one is a Schumacher (like the F1 driver). It fits perfectly on an existing bolt and no problem with closing the hood. I bought it at Canadian Tire in Canada but it is for sale in USA. ($CAN45.00)
