Hello out there;

Unseasonably warm weather here in Iowa today, (almost 80 degrees in November) and I am wondering when to winterize and put the Viper in it's bubble with battery tender, etc.

If I do the mobile I and filter change now, can I continue to drive it if the weather holds? Will I have to change it again if I put 500 miles or so on her before it really gets nasty? There is a fine line here in Iowa between when the snow starts flyin' and I don't want to drive in the slick stuff. The Viper has NO traction in winter conditions.

Tire inflation? When I really do put the Viper down for the winter, how high should I fill the tires to avoid the flat-spot thing?

This is my second Viper (an 01 RT) and I have always done the oil and filter change, then store her. What do you think? Is a couple hundred miles of easy driving going to do any damage after I do it?

Thanks as always!

Jim

I just sent you a long article that was published in WA VCA newsletter...probably linked here somewhere.

I am too stoopid to be able to post it here....I can cut/paste everywhere else but here. Frustrating.

I THINK the storage article may also be in new issue of VCA Notes, which is IN THE MAIL to Paid VCA members as I write this.

-Tires to sidewall max + 5........
-Park on carpet squares....
-Clean oil is better for storage than dirty...500 miles is not totally clean, but for SEALONAL storage, fine with my thinking.
TomFLOGoR has posted good stuff on this point.
-Battery tender for sure.
