Hey everyone! I just bought a 1996 GTS, bone stock, serviced by Dave Jenkins in CA. It should be here tomorrow. I am so excited...I've owned 5 Supra Twin Turbos (2 of which have outran stock GTS's on the interstate), but I really miss the low end torque of a large displacement motor. I used to have a 1996 SS Camaro w/ a 150 shot of N2O, and that was a major factor in me buying a Viper...a Viper GTS dyno looks like my SS on nitrous! Man all that low end power is gonna be nice
I love the never-ending pull of turbos on top-end, but since 99% of all driving is less than 80 mph (for me anyway
), I think a GTS will hit the spot.
I also want to say thanks to Janni and Henry Cone in Raleigh, NC for their guidance and help in my quest for a Viper. I talked w/ Janni via email about what to look for in a Viper, and they invited me to come to their house when they did the Team-Tech harness install write-up. Even though I am only 23 years old (22 at the time), they took me seriously concerning my interest in buying a Viper, where as most people would think a 'kid' would just want a joyride. Thanks for your help Janni and Henry. Also wanted to say thanks to Dave Jenkins in CA, as he is supposed to fax me over the service history of the Viper I bought so I can get to work with all the maintanence that needs to be done. Anyway, I'm sure I'll talk to you all soon! Take care.
