Now, if they'd only put that engine in an interesting car.

Seriously, every time I see one of the new hot Mercedes AMG cars, I have an approach avoidance reaction. The straight line performance looks fantatsic, but the over weight luxo barge with an automatic aspect of the car doesn't do it for me.

What do one of those things cost? Is'n't it about 200K with all the taxes? Just wondering,

In Germany the SL55 will be about $130000 included tax.
You can take three diverent top speeds:250km/h,300km/h and 325km/h. I will have to wait till march 2003, but then I can tell you, if I still want to drive my viper!!!

I think you will have no problem in the 1/4 beating it. Remember, there is more to a Viper than just 0-180. And look at that thing, just plain ugly. No matter how you slice it, at the end of the day you will still have a Viper and she just another of the zillion MB's on the road. I bet it dosen't even come in a stick!

Speed Vision (I think that's the name now) did a show on the car and they achieved 0-60 4.39 sec and the 1/4 12.6@116 and it looked to have excellent handling and braking, weighed 4,300 lb with 500HP. In the show they also said it "has Viper like acceleration"
