Just had Circuit City install the Pioneer unit
for about $450. over 100 satellite stations
30 or so commercial-free! From Metallica to Anthrax on Fox news

Jason Fontenot and I have had the XM Alpine stereo installed in the cars for weeks but..... the antenna looks like something out of a Godzilla movie!! I refuse to put that big Nasty thing on the outside of my Viper. I have been told that it cannot transmit or receive signals thru glass. did you find this to be true, please advise?

Sheyster, Don't get me wrong. the XM radio is incredible, but from what I have been told the smaller antenna from Alpine will not be out until Jan02. I still plan on buying the XM Home unit from Sony when it comes out.

To answer the emails ..no it's not a Viper
but it could be on shelf of Viper!
This is on this car,you can't see from outside and same
would hold true with the Viper.

I got to spend the day at the XM Radio headquarters in DC. 88 studios, all sound proofed so you cant hear a thing in the hallways (just the floor vibrating), but open a door and POW! (as Emril says).
