Options for 20" tire

Looking to replace my 20" pilot tires on my GTS and would like options other than Pilots. I believe they are 325/25/20's in the rear and 285/30/20 front.

Why are you wanting to get away from the Michelin Pilots??

I have Pirelli PZero Rossos on mine. 345/25/20 rear and 285/35/20 front. Looking to replace with PS2's come spring.

I just wanted option. I have always run BFG's on my Vette and dont care for the looks of the pilot tires.

Just curious for you guys running bigger wheels on a GTS. Does your car sit any higher than stock?

I just put 19" HRE 546's on the wifes GTS and the car seems to sit a little higher. I really like the look of the larger wheels but definitely have to lower the car now.

Particularly the rear is about 3/4" higher, the tires I have on are Pilot sports 345/30/19.

Yes. If your wheel diameter is 20, that means 2" wider radious than stock, means 1" higher the car will sit.

Although that does not account for details like tire height, it gives a approx calculation.

My car does sit heigh compared to most. Granted, on the occasion when I hit the 4x4 log in the middle of the road, I was thankful that day for the extra height. If I was lower my airdam would have been GONE!!

Your GTS looks very sweet. I just can't get used to the wheel gap. This is my wife's GTS and first thing she said after I put the wheels on it is: I know what I want for Christmas and that is some lowering springs. It is tough because I have mine lowered an inch sitting next to hers and you can really tell the difference.

I thought the wheel diameter goes up but the sidewall gets smaller thus no change...

I had 18" on my Titan...Went for 20's. The series (sidewall height) changed and there is NO CHANGE in height or diameter of the tire.

That is kind of what I thought. I rolled the stocker rear 18" next to the new 19" rears and they are definitely about 3/4 inch shorter.

I suppose if it had a 345/25/19 (if there is such a thing) vs a 345/30/19 it would have been a little shorter.

Yeah, lowering would help in this situation. It would likely make your car look better sitting lower. On mine, I cannot go any lower due to the 20's on the front. As it is the hood just touches the rubber while closing.

Yes, that is true to a certain extent. However, when dealing with tires that are already so thin on rubber, all you can do is go from maybe a 35 profile to a 30, maybe even a 25. I gaurantee that you truck tires changed more than a measurement of 10 when you went to a 20" rim.

At least that is the way I understand it!
