Just trying to find out if I'm the only person that has this problem. I wash my car in the driveway, and it has a pretty decent angle on it. After I've dried the car, I will get inside to move the car into the garage, and can hear a large amount of water swishing around inside the driver side door. I assume there is a drain hole, and it is on the front of the door (closest to the mirror) and this drains out after I drive off. Anyone else here relate to this and can verify it's normal, or should I have the dealer look into it? Thanks for your help! :2tu:

I have a 2006 coupe and haven't ever had a problem with water in the door. Up until January I drove my at least 2 or 3 times a week in rainy south Louisiana. I would get someone to check this for you.

Gap in the rubber molding is likely the culprit. I know my RT/10 leaks on the pass side right where the side mirror is. Same case, actually I am missing a piece of molding there.

Just towel it while you wash.

All doors are designed to have a wet and dry side inside the door. All doors have drains. The dry side is separated with a plastic barrier and the wiring harness has connectors which are sealed that are on the wet side. You have a problem with draining. In a composite / molded door, these drain holes are typically a trim operation. Whether they are clogged or missing on your car, you may need a pic of another 08 door to compare, if someone could take a pic for you, open the door look for drain holes along the bottom bottom hem / underside face of the door inner.

Jason,

you're suppose to shut the door when washing your car :rolaugh:

Guys, nevermind. I've just been washing my car the wrong way all this time. Thanks Dan for the tip!! :lmao:

In all seriousness, I think a couple of people touched on it here. I will go look at the drainage holes this evening and find out if the one in the back is blocked. I'm assuming because of the incline of my driveway, that it's not reaching the drainage hole towards the front of the door. I just don't know that I've ever heard the water swishing in the door the first year I owned the car.

Malu,

After I wash my car I always open the door and notice water like on top of the side skirt still. In between the door/sideskirt.

Yeah, that's probably the water coming out of the drainage holes. It will continue to leak for several hours after the wash also, which *****. My issue however, is with a LARGE amount of water not draining in the door after a wash...only when washing on an incline.

Jason,

after washing my car, I use my compressor and air hose to get all the water out. Even after drying, I still get a little water trickling down.

A local detailer has also tried that, and commented that it still drips. Oh well :)
