I have a 94 and it has some of the cracks in the paint very near the front of the hood. Bedides getting ir repainted with an elastomeric type paint, what about a wrap? Anyone done this?

Yes thousands of people have wrapped there car. Assuming you mean wrapping the entire car.

Cracks in the paint vs cracks in fiberglass are a bit different but pretty normal for these cars. To repair both requires different amounts of work, but your end goal is going to determine what you are happy with and what is needed.

I dont think elastomeric paint is an option.

Post pictures for more help.

I had the typical cracks in the fiberglass from people closing the hood incorrectly and had it repaired and repainted as well as the front bumper repainted at the same time. Cost me $3600 but was worth it.

Depends on the shop and if they do a complete redo or just an area patch. But I have seen anywhere from $700-$3500

This was just last year. I talked with a bunch of others who had similar work done and they were mostly slightly higher than what I paid. You definitely want to make sure you go to a good bodyshop.

Thanks for the update. I’ve gotten quoted $2000-3500 so far for the hood
for a proper full hood respray that's about right. depends on your location and the type of shop, but that should be a solid job for the amount of hours they'll have in it.

FYI the hood is not fiberglass is a SMC composite materials and if they fix with fiberglass is going to start all over again.

If you have cracks in the paint up near the windshield, I recommend adding heat mat in the underside of the hood. I'm pretty sure that's why my paint cracked.

Any recommended brand? I do have one up by the front of the windshield and one by the fake air vent.
