Hi. We inherited a 1994 Dodge Viper and want to sell it. We don’t know much about its history, how to find its value for pricing, what is important to know when selling it and need some guidance. The car has 39,000 miles on it and title shows actual miles. It’s my understanding that there were only 2,391 of them made for that year.

The person we inherited from bought and held collectible items from cars to art.

We are located in Northern Colorado. Any help or guidance is appreciated. Thank you Teresa.

There have been a few 94's that sold on Bring A Trailer in the last few months. They have ranged from $33 1/2k - $40k with miles under 20k - over 40k. Not a bad place to compare miles and condition to those that have sold recently. They also have comments you can read through to gather a little more info.

Honestly, the prices are all over the board with Gen1s.
If you are looking for top dollar these days youre going to
have to learn quite a bit about the car, market it, and be
prepared for a VERY particular type of clientele... If you
just want a quick sale, your best bet is (like mentioned
above) BringATrailer, CarsNBids, or even Ebay. At least
with those youre less likely to be involved with seller drama...

Im sorry for your loss though. Was the owner a big Viper
Enthusiast - would we know who it was? Its tough to be
thrown into the deep end of this niche world, good luck!

First off I am sorry for your loss. 94 was actually the highest production year of all of the Vipers and supposedly they produced 3,083. With that being said, if everything on it is well sorted and in great shape, you can expect it to fetch around $35-$40k right now. Biggest thing with selling these is the right person seeing the car. I moderate one of the big Viper groups on Facebook and a lot of newer owners message me privately so I get to see what people are regularly paying for cars. Vipers are a lot harder to find for sale than most cars because of overall production numbers being so low comparatively to other stuff. With that being said you typically can’t find a bunch of Vipers for sale within an hour of your location which helps and hinders. Was just recently talking with a gentleman who drove from Connecticut to New York to pay $45k for a total bomb of a Gen 1 RT10. Just to get it running right he has already dumped almost $10k into it in the last month. With that being said there’s guys buying them for around $30k in different parts of the country. It all comes down to how big of a rush you are in to sell the car. If you can sit on it for awhile then list it high and work with whatever offers you get. If you are looking to sell it fast, list it for $30-$35k. Just my 2 cents. I’ve personally bought 5 Vipers in the last 4 years and have helped numerous others buy and sell theirs.
