I just happen to find a set of brand new IPSCO lowering caps under my passenger seat (96 GTS), still in the package LOL. Previous owner never put them on apparently. I’m considering them, but I rub and hit everything already. Looks like these lower the car between 5/8-3/4 inch. Two questions; do I need a spring compressor to install? And will lowering the car 3/4” to a new ride height require a 4 wheel alignment? If it does, I may just pass, or that’s a great time to get all new control arm bushings….

^^This.... But just get coilovers. Old stock suspension is likely shot by now anyway. I did the caps and it didnt ride all that great and I ended up with BC coilovers anyway.

Yes you need spring compressor, and a typical off the shelf auto parts one likely won't fit.

You dont need an alignment but it's recommended.
