Greetings. My name is David, from Washington MI, my Gen 3 has 21K miles and is in excellent condition. Its time to replace the motor mounts. Realizing engine movement and just had to replace the cooler lines which may be caused by the engine movement.

My question: Is the concensus to replace with OEM motor mounts? or aftermarket rubber insulated types, or hard mount no rubber mounts?

There are pros and cons with each.

i have never driven a vehicle with direct motor mounts, is the vibration sensed direct into the frame greater? Is there a performance improvement with direct mounts since no energy is consumed in compressing the rubber?

Thanks for the guidance and feed back

The left side (drivers side) mount is always the one to let go, and is much easier to replace than the right side. I’d start by just replacing it.

thanks for your feedback. Do you have any experience with motor mounts that are direct mount (no isolation)?

A popular move is replacing the OEM with polyurethane engine & trans mounts. Really cleans up the shifter feel.

I have the Woodhouse poly mounts in my car and have been pretty happy with them. You will notice a little more buzz and vibration initially, but I think once they break in a bit you don't really notice it too much. The Viper isn't a luxury car to start with, so you already get a little more "feedback" from the mechanical bits to start with. I don't mind it that much, but if you have stock exhaust and your interior is in decent shape there's a chance it might cause a few more squeaks and rattles if that bothers you.

My 2003 has solid mounts. I dont notice much vibration from it but I dont know what it felt like with stock bushings to take that with a grain of salt.

If your mounts are not broke they are going to move even when new that is the design. If you can find OE factory mounts I would replaced them with that. Viper parts are drying up and it *****. Aftermarket you need to know what you are buying or you will be unhappy. Cory at Collectors Choice or Viper parts of America is a place to start if you can not get them from Dodge.

I have "INNOVATIVE" Red, motor mounts on my Gen 3. Make sure you get the Bolt, Nut and Machined Washer with the mount. They missed on one of the 2 with me.

I prefer the production mounts for street cars and the poly mounts for the track cars.
