Greetings. My name is David, from Washington MI, my Gen 3 has 21K miles and is in excellent condition. Its time to replace the motor mounts. Realizing engine movement and just had to replace the cooler lines which may be caused by the engine movement.

My question: Is the concensus to replace with OEM motor mounts? or aftermarket rubber insulated types, or hard mount no rubber mounts?

There are pros and cons with each.

i have never driven a vehicle with direct motor mounts, is the vibration sensed direct into the frame greater? Is there a performance improvement with direct mounts since no energy is consumed in compressing the rubber?

Thanks for the guidance and feed back

The left side (drivers side) mount is always the one to let go, and is much easier to replace than the right side. I’d start by just replacing it.

A popular move is replacing the OEM with polyurethane engine & trans mounts. Really cleans up the shifter feel.
