94 Viper right sidepipe overheating and melting sill plate under door. Any ideas as to why this is occurring

replace the cats, its time anyway and new ones perform better.

replace 02s while youre there if you havent.

Catalytic converter, too many people never let their cars warm up, driving to cars and coffee two miles away is not enough. Mine did the same thing before I fixed it.

Typically an overheating cat is caused by an excessive amount of unburnt fuel getting into it, this could be caused by a stuck fuel injector or a misfire on one or more cylinders. In my experience, the most common cause of a misfire on a Gen1 Viper is faulty plug wires, if a spark plug boot fails, and the spark arks through the boot, causing a misfire.
