09 Viper, start and idles fine but no throttle. Have e done relearn a number of times. Scanner shows DTC P2166 and 2167. Says IN PLANT TEST FAILURE. What is that? Erase codes and they come right back. Checked all wiring and cleaned throttle bodies but still same thing. Any body else had this problem. Going to check all the sensors and components before I start buying parts.

Cheap scanners can display throttle % without even needing to run the car. You can just put it on run position and pull up the throttle parameter.

I do have a good scan tool. Erased all the DTC's. Start car and the only P2166 and P2167 comes up. Suggested repairs that I have found so far is that it is a problem with the ECM, the Throttle sensors (that I just replaced ) or the gas pedal which is a $4000.00 item to replace because the potentiometer in it can only be serviced as a unit. Has anyone else had a problem like this? I would appreciate hearing from you if so.

You didn't read my post. Reread it and do what I wrote. Report back the throttle values you see when you press the throttle from 0% all the way to WOT (100%)

What mods on the car?

How are you doing the relearn? Factory tools, or something else?

Sorry I have taken so long to respond but I had a death in the family. Installed 2 throttle bodies and car ran fine for 3 days then did the same thing but worse. DTC P2166, DTC P2167. I am going to try to get another scan tool because whenever I try to access throttle parameters I get the message P2166 ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR 1 MAXIMUM STOP PERFORMANCE.(operation has been stopped due to the following reasons. 1. Vehicle Condition is out of test condition.
2. No response from vehicle ECU. Refer to service manual, confirm
test condition & vehicle condition.
P2167 ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR 2 MAXIMUM STOP PERFORMANCE and I get the same message as above.
The research I have done so far keeps pointing toward the accelerator pedal potentiometer is not working. I am trying to get to it to check it with a volt ohm meter but in order to remove it you have to completely remove the brake, clutch pedal and throttle as a unit and it is only sold as a complete unit. A lot of labor to remove it.That makes a gas pedal cost over $4000.00 not including labor. This is my second Viper. The only modifications, are high flow cats, Belanger
exhaust, and Gen 5 intake. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.

You said you changed the throttle ?bodies/sensors? - I think they need a dealership specific tool to be re-learned (i.e., not just an at-home reset or autozone scan tool reset), don't they?
