Gen 3 2005 Mamba. Plug wires shorted to exhaust manifold. Heard tapping noise on #10 cylinder valves. I see irregular wear on the valve stem and the rocker. See pictures.

Is this a bent valve? Damaged valve guide? Or other issue? Thanks I appreciate your responses.

My first thought would be either the rocker arm or rock arm pedestal, not being square.
I'll check it out. The rocker looks like it has been wearing like that since it was built? Very uneven and paint is still on the rocker. The end of the valve stem looks rough / wear.

Ya, I agree, something looks out of square to me. Rocker / pedestal as mentioned. I would replace both. The Valve looks like it may need to be replaced or it could take out the new Rocker. Make sure the guide looks good as well as the steam not being bent at the top.

Thanks. I'll take the head off and check. I'll replace the value and rocker, check the pedestal.

Have you done any work on the heads? It almost looks like there are helicoils in the mounting holes on the head. Did the factory do that? I'm kind of wondering if one of them isn't all the way flush with the surface so when you tighten it down it's not going flat.

I would say you have a bad lifter. You get wear like that when you have play in the lifter. You mentioned a tapping noise?
