Thinking of Selling my 02 GTS, Looking for Advice

I was thinking about this same question this morning. If I were to sell, what would be the price for mine. The ones for sale I've been looking at, None are in the $30k's. If it were me, I would start at $37k - $40k and take no less than $35k. Good luck with what you decide.

    Transmission Help Please - 1999 RT/10

If it was me, I would do a rebuild kit. (Bearings, keys, syncros, ect.) and inspect each gear. Clean everything. You could go core replacement, but new bearings and syncros would almost mean a new transmission. Buying used could get you another time bomb. Gears not up to snuff would get...

    Coolant type for older vipers?

I use Dex-cool in my 96 after doing some research. However, shortly after getting mine 2 years ago, I overhauled the cooling system (new radiator, new hoses, new water pump, gaskets). During that process, i switched to Dexcool. See this thread...

    Transmission Help Please - 1999 RT/10

I rebuilt my Viper T56 and my Corvett's T56. Its not really bad at all. Lots of info online, and if you need a pdf repair manual, I have some I can send you. You will need a press to press off and on the old and new bearings. I ordered my parts from here...

    question of viper value 1996

It really sucks this car has been such a burden for you. At this point it might be a relief to dump it for a lower price just to be done with it. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Dump it or restore it (96 RT/10 Special Edition)

I say fix it and enjoy it, but I kind of enjoy working on stuff. If you plan on letting a shop tackle all the issues, it might not be worth it minus the paint.

Anyone selling a very high mileage GTS soon

Funny you mention the E60 m5. I took the plunge on one last year for the wife's second car. 2006 with 76k miles. I would not have it as my only car, or a daily driver. My advice on them would be to find a well sorted one and it shouldn't trouble you too much. The one we got we paid a little bit...

    question of viper value 1996

I have a 96 with 91k I bought in 2018 for $29K. Had 87K when I bought it. I thought it was a steal to find a B/W GTS under 30. I specifically was looking for a higher mile, "fixer-upper" deal. I wanted one I could drive and not worry about ruining the value of. If I were to try and sell mine, I...

    Gen II power steering pulley.

FYI Here is the bracket I got from Roe. I didn't find one on Rockauto. https://www.roeracing.com/product/billet-aluminum-power-steering-bracket-metal-pulley-96-02-gts-rt10/

    Gen II power steering pulley.

I agree, Got my billet bracket from Roe Racing for about $80 after one of my Power steering bolts seized and broke off during timing cover gasket replacement. I did not get the pulley with it, however. Another thing to note, the PS high pressure hose in OP's original picture doesn't seem to be...

    Aftermarket Radio Installation

I could not find any kind of radio adapter when I did my 96 GTS. I bypassed the factory amp and ran new wires from the head unit to the 4 speakers. Then using the diagram from the old radio, I spliced in the rest. Not super hard, but can be intimidating.

    My Viper sprung a leak!

Sounds like either the water pump gasket or the timing cover gasket. I had to do this in mine earlier this year. Its involved but not hard. I would NOT go back with the paper Mopar OEM gaskets. Spring for Cometic that are aluminum cored. Good luck.

    Viper pricing

I was seeing this as well, and was getting frustrated. I always pictured the Viper as the attainable dream car. I stuck to my budget, but it took me almost 2 years of looking at least weekly to find the Viper for me. Since I bought mine last year, prices have gone up even more. No way I could...

    1993 RT 10 Transmission oil

So after I rebuilt my Daily Driver C5's t56 I went with Pennzoil Syncromesh, Almost 40,000 miles later everything is still great. After having to rebuild the T56 in the Viper shortly after buying it, I went with Syncromesh after the rebuild. Being that it is doing well in the C5, I have no fear...

Cup Holder for a Gen 2

So just wanted to share. I have a C5 and have one of these in it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It looked like it would fit in the Viper with a little modification so I bought another one and trimed it to fit. Seems to work really well, and doesn't' require drilling or...

Rear Toe link end same as front Tie Rod?

Ok so I installed these today. Here's what I did. You will need a 1 5/16 open ended wrench to loosen the old tie rods. Here's what I ordered: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-INNER-TIE-ROD-END-SET-FORD-DODGE-VIPER-1992-2002/231072021585?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 A...

    Motor Oil

From the research I've done, 0W40 is recommended for later Gen Vipers, and is approved for use in Gen 1 and 2. I made the switch after reading up on that. 10W30 will prob work just fine. I liked the additive package in the European formula 0W40 Mobile 1 Regular changes is way more important...

    Windshield Wipers Sword-fight

Dumb question I know, but is there a difference in the wiping pattern between year models? On my 96 GTS, the driver side wipes 2 times more often than the passenger. They don't contact each other, they just don't perform according to the video you posted, and the video of Doug Demuro's 97 GTS...
