Mechanic needed in NC - Greensboro area?

Bonafide viper techs are rare. If you can't find anyone, take your Viper to a reputable Dodge dealer. I do, and they stand behind their work. Most Viper repairs are uncomplicated.

What is the average cost to replace a window regulator on a 1996 GTS?

Try this outfit. https://powerwindowrepair.com/services-we-offer/power-window-regulator-repair/ I have not used them but it might be worth contacting them.

First time Viper owner, 94 RT/10

It's more about torque than horsepower when speaking of initial takeoff. I punched the accelorator the other day and my '02 RT/10 got a little fishy when I hit second gear at full throttle. I have two-year-old Toyo R888R tires and they are very sticky. BTW, ten-year-old tires should be dumped...

If you gotta have a Gen l get a Gen l. If you’re not sure get a Gen ll.

    Low Coolant In Overflow??

"Pop off the front bumper"? Add distilled water? Wouldn't it be easier to replace a leaking fill hose? And you might want to fill the overflow with a proper mix of distilled water and coolant, or coolant in itself if you're using the premixed type.

    Low Coolant In Overflow??

Do what Steve-Indy said. If you have a inspeciton mirror you can pull the grommet on the wheel well and see exactly how much fluid you have as well as the MIN and MAX levels...

First Time Gen II GTS Buyer - Need Advice

To each his own, but I would have concerns about the mods and would not purchase the car. This is especially true with any engine work. But others may feel differently.

    The Viper Search

Statewide search is common for Vipers. I got lucky and found mine on eBay. Car was only 100 miles away and was exactly what i was looking for: Gen ll in my price range and the right color and low miles (11,000)

Buying a low mile Gen 1 Viper, any tips for what to expect?

Tires will be hard as rocks and need to be replaced. All gaskets and hoses will be suspect on a car this old. That's just the basic easy stuff. Others will have more information for you.

    Dodge Viper stereotypes and sayings

What's really cool is when people walk past a $200,000 McLaren to gawk at my Gen 2 RT/10 at Cars and Coffee. Yep, that's right, and we were parked side by side. Timeless beauty. Nothing like it.

    Floor Mats

I had an after market motorcycle seat that was held in place with industrial grade velcro. No proplems with 19,000 miles.

    93 Viper - thoughts...

Vipers are not investments, just like other cars, they are meant to be driven. Have fun with it. Like jdeft1 says, look into changing gaskets, hoses, fluids, etc. and start having fun with your car.

96 GTS Plugs: Using Champion rc12ecc instead of rc12lyc

Double copper in the ecc vs single in the lyc. I just put a set of rc12ecc plugs in my gen ll. Runs great.

The right place to advertise a 96 GTS

+1 for Ebay. That's where I found my Viper only 100 miles from my home after looking all over the country online.

So which Viper is or will be the most collectable?

My guess is Gen l and Gen ll. But the older the car, in most cases, the more collectable it becomes. Go to a car show and see which cars make the top 20. It's almost always cars from the 60s down.

    Looking to purchase a Viper

The Gen ll Vipers are more civilized than Gen I Vipers. Still, I love the side exhausts and wish my '02 roadster had them. Do some research on both before you make a final decision. It's nice to have real side windows, a hard top, anti-lock brakes, tighter suspension, more power, etc. Later...

    Viper pricing

I went to a car show the other day and saw a 1967 corvette with a sign on it that said only 22,900 made. Had to chuckle. My '02 roadster is one of 545 made...ever. Red with black interior: 139 made. There were only around 30,000 Vipers made in 25 years. In 2016 more than 40,000 corvettes were...

    Heater Hose Replacement Question

I'm planning to replace my rubber heater hoses with silicone hoses. Is this a simple task...drain coolant and simply replace the hoses or does it require movements of other parts? Any precautions to be aware of?
