Posting for a Viper Owner in Germany who needs advice on bringing his stock 1995 R/T 10 into compliance for over the road licensing.
The major problems seem to be side exhaust, headlights, noise level...noting that he has already installed the rear fog light.
Any help from our fellow owners in...
While I suspect that most of us would not have agreed to this type of deal in the first place, your kindness to this young man is commendable. At this point, I would not contact the potential buyer until AFTER I had an official talk with my personal attorney. Then, you can decide on your course...
I will send a text to your phone...after I make certain he has not sold it since I last spoke with him. By the way, the stripe is called a "Fang" stripe...playing off of the newer Gen III logo.
Rocco, have you ever seen a 2005 Commemorative Edition...white with blue stingray center stripe...and a few blue leather parts in interior? Sharp car... and I think fewer made than Mambas. I MAY know of one with only a couple of thousand miles, original owner, well cared for Viper all original...
Before you go too far in a search, I would suggest that you check to see if Dodge still has it...but, has moved it to the Vintage Parts section. A GOOD parts guy at a CJDR dealership should know how to check.
My Sunday night GUESSES:
As I recall, disconnecting battery (or a bad connection to battery) or low voltage can cause the "Lightning bolt" symbol to appear. It may not have turned on the CEL/MIL but there may be a pending code that one could read.
I would inspect battery, check voltage at...
Glad to hear that. I suspect that the first few that I saw (all were 03's and 04's) were early experiences..some of which had already had the "harness fix" which was later removed and replaced by the new module.

Enjoy your fine ride this Summer !!
Two common sources of leak are bad "O" rings and leaking Schrader valve stems.
Since the compressor itself gets hot and adds more heat to the under hood environment, starting with "O" rings of the two hose connections to the compressor is a good and accessible starting point...ideally on the...
Some will clear with two to three drive cycles if condition was temporary. Otherwise, use an inexpensive code reader to confirm codes...then clear it and watch.
FYI... it helps "armchair guessing" if you provide year of Viper.
I hope it works out for you.
casper, send me an email at [email protected]
and I will send a photo to you of a chart that shows Viper VIN plate locations...as found in Viper Buyers Guide.
The other issue is the vacuum leak. It will be interesting to see if you can find the source of the "strong sound of air sucking from under the hood". Are you sure that is not from the airbox?
I appreciate your observations. There is a mode door actuator motor that possibly may need to be recalibrated per the service manual by disconnecting the negative battery cable for 60 seconds. This sounds like instrument panel removal is necessary to access this IF it is the problem and it is...
In addition to the suggestions above, are your door handle LED's turning off a minute or two after you close doors?
To find an abnormal drain, do the Ignition Off Draw test outlined in the service manual.
Finally, get a good AGM battery, charge it fully, then install it and life will be...
