    Gen 4 (2008)Brake/Clutch flush

Yes, suck the old fluid out of the reservoir and refill before bleeding. As for doing anything with the ABS, there's nothing you can do without the appropriate scan tool, so just bleed the brakes like you normally would on a non-ABS car. Many will say that you need to cycle the ABS module to...

Gen V rear brake calipers..different orientation

The reason for the caliper flip flop is explained here: http://www.edmunds.com/car-reviews/track-tests/2013-srt-viper-gts-suspension-walkaround.html

Gen V mules - Gen IV cars with Gen V body panels

There is no way in hell it is even close. Not close enough that you could just buy all the panels and do it in a weekend at least.

Gen V mules - Gen IV cars with Gen V body panels

Bingo. If you think you can buy Gen V body panels, pull off your Gen III/IV panels and just bolt the new stuff up, you are in for a long day. The chances of all frame to body mounting points either being there or even being close to the right spot to accept the new stuff is slim...I'd even...

    red arrow shifting ?

I don't do it every time I drive it (not many places around here to do it safely), but I'd have no qualms about it...if the engine wasn't designed to handle it, they wouldn't have included it as a feature.

    Gen 4 intake manifold removal

I pieced my own together based on an RX Performance catch can...I made a custom bracket for it, and also did my own plumbing to it. I can't say for sure how well it is working since I've only been running it since this spring, but it should help at least some. There are a couple schools of...

    SRT: Please Pay Attention

All they have to do is what GM has done: make it so that any changes made to the PCM are logged. If the dealer didn't do it, then poof! No more warranty for the engine, or anything else that was damaged by it. Those that are willing to take the risk of voiding the warranty can do so, and...

Let's try this one again...anyone make cruise control for Gen IV Viper?

Nope, but SRT has a simple answer: buy a Gen V. So no cruise control for this guy.

Transmission difference between 2008 and 2013?

My initial reaction is to say repair, but seeing that you are in Sweden, I'm not sure how feasible that is. There are a few places here in the States where you can easily repair it, and add upgrades if wanted (like a taller 5th and 6th gear cluster). Regardless, unless you want to change the...

Transmission difference between 2008 and 2013?

The gear ratios are different...you'd want to make sure you were running a 3.55 or steeper gear in the rear to compensate.

    replace stereo with tablet

I've seen someone do it with a Toyota Tacoma: http://youtu.be/rSnIXfoSU6I http://youtu.be/Jsvog8tb8dc http://youtu.be/y-k2_N5XPaU It'd be cool to see someone do this with a Viper.

    Truth in advertising?

I dunno...I see the airbags. They look pretty "intack" to me. As a buyer, I'd be comforted knowing they were there. I can't verify that my '08 even has airbags, because I've never seen them.

    MCS new product poll

Well, I guess there shouldn't be a question anymore about whether or not there is a market for such an offering.

So who plans on modding their GenV's

Well, since the Gen IV and Gen V powerplants are damn near the same, they can make some assumptions that what worked for the Gen IVs will work for the Gen Vs (and have similar gains). In this game, it isn't about being right...it's about being first. They'll need the Mopar PCM to do it...

    WTF?

Folks, There was nothing stock about this engine...when you build a motor and put a healthy cam in it, you also have to upgrade to aftermarket valve springs, which those are (stock cars don't come with dual spring setups). If you have a stock engine, you don't have to worry about it...

Differential oil: Amsoil or Royal Purple?

I don't think you can go wrong with either, although the Amsoil pictured is only a 75w110 instead of 75w140. FWIW, I run Torco synthetic gear oil in my Gen IV.

Won't go in reverse + CEL?

Maybe try unplugging the reverse lockout solenoid and see what happens? You might be onto something with the burnt wire theory.

    11.1@ 127 Pretty strong!

So this is what you bring to the table to defend wanting a DOHC engine in a Viper? 0-60 times? You know, the times that are the most affected by traction, favoring AWD cars? And instead of attributing the fastest times to great traction, you instead mostly attribute it to the fact that they...

Need some emergency emergency brake help

They do make a tool, but don't get the one from Harbor Freight...it doesn't work. That's why I just improvised and used the bent needle nose pliers.

Need some emergency emergency brake help

Yes, the e-brake caliper needs to come off...the hardest part is probably retracting the piston, which for me required a pair of 90* bent nose pliers. It really isn't that hard to do though...budget about 2 hours if you've never done it before, knowing full well that it will take about half...

Ron Fellows ZR1 School, Spring Mountain?

I didn't find it difficult to hear or understand at all...unless my memory is failing, it was piped over the factory radio, so you could turn it up if you needed to.

Need some emergency emergency brake help

How often do you use your e-brake? Ever since I read about this problem, I have pretty much stopped using my e-brake...I replaced my parking brake pads last fall (they had the typical inner pad almost gone type wear), so I'll see how they are doing later this year when I check them during...

You could insert a few YouTube videos here to drive this point home and have a few chuckles while you're at it :)

    GenV Cost of Ownership

From my brief time of owning a Gen IV, it seems like the clutch and rear end fluids get the nastiest the fastest...transmission oil came out pretty clean, the power steering fluid seemed okay, and the brake fluid wasn't nearly as nasty as I thought it would be (I don't think anything other than...
