I'd keep an eye on that silicone o-ring. If it is silicone, that thing will act like it's on viagra! As far as the blowing oil, I'd look for crankcase pressure build. Sounds to me like it's building and blowing the valve cover gaskets and likely any other holding back crankcase vapors. Take the...
I believe there are services out there that do this but looking for some input on interest. I'm equipped to do a simple viscosity check as well as possibly volatiles. These two go hand in hand as oil breaks down over time as well as gas vapors blowing into the crankcase. It would be a running...
Take a look at this knife switch on ebay: 181183666897
I would mount a cable under the dash much like a hood release cable up to the hood power junction. In this way no one can see you perform anything like going up to the nose or the ass end to engage the knife switch.
If they're similar to the P/S lines then you can bet the pipe itself is the cause. In a previous post, I pointed out the crappy finish on the contact surface causes abrasion on the o-ring for certain ultimate leaking. A fine grit sanding eliminates the problem.

I'd like to see a shot of these bearings. Any chance you could post that? Just curious about what makes these so unusual price-wise. I assume these are not tapered rollers (not accessible to my manual)? Recently did the fronts on my old XKE V12 and they were 10% or less than these are.
Thanks
It seems to me that if there are crossed wires one could take an ohm meter and check for shorts around the suspected cluster? I would consider this as a less invasive as well as cost saving? It would suck if the cluster is replaced and the issue is still present. If the suspicion is around the...
I'm with everyone else on this. Find an upholstery shop and discuss your thoughts. If I were going to replace, it damn well better be twice as good as what I have and a little padding and shifted plastic isn't worth another 60 big ones. I love my 06 with the Paxton and have no envy for the new...
I've yet to run across a situation where the oxy sensor failed over the years with any of my internal combustions. Save your time and expense before going down that path. If it's a time dependent glitch then it suggest a sensor; could be the oxy but I'd look at other signals. I installed oxy...
Allan, yah, strange but end result is that the job went very well in spite of the tight spaces with the Paxton in place. Once you know that the old fitting is cut off and the new one pops in, it becomes a real easy job.
A little confusion here. I got the job done and discussed the details of the effort by starting a new post but for some reason it didn't post. In any case, I expect a much longer lasting unit. The key was observing that there was a lack of a polished finish at the o-ring/taper interface.
Decided to start this thread as a fresh discussion on my leaking unit (2006). After further investigation, I believe that the failures of original and repaired units is the result of tooling marks left on the 1/2" tube during its fabrication. The critical seal point is at the taper section of...
I read some earlier emails and Dan makes good points of having it done right. For me it's all about knowing my car. If I hadn't taken it apart I wouldn't have seen my observations. The more I thought about it the more certain I am that the oring gets sandpapered by the rough texture of the pipe...
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. After seeing the needed cut, I simplified by mounting the ends on a small lathe and slow speed cut with a little lubrication. This gave total control on the cuts with minimal risk of nicking the pipe. Two minute job! As far as ongoing issues with...
As I noted, in my case the leak is also starting at the metal/hose crimp and signs at the cooler disconnect end too. I just need to know if the tool pops these things apart easily before getting it. I assume that the o-ring can then be pulled and replaced and simply popped back in place. I tried...
A further look into this begs the question of why Dodge would route the pressure line in such a long path. This thing travels from the top of the pump across to the passenger side, drops down and returns towards the center to couple with the cooling fan area. I just don't get the excess footage...
Looks like the other crimp-on to the flex hose is also experiencing some wetting. Going to yank the line for closer inspection and to possibly get a better view of the quick-disconnect component. Will see how much of a hassle the line going to the cooler will be. Doug, I like (relative term)...
Any experiences to share on doing this repair? Calls for tool 8875 to pop the line free, any issues? Called local Chrysler in Hickory NC, had no clue on the tool.

I, on the other hand, did use a plug on my '05 and never had any issues at all. Ran it until it was replaced. I would strongly caution against using the foam fill or any other liquid fill. Many years ago I used it on a car and at reasonable speed the wheel became an unbalanced rock. Scared the...
If you look closely, the rubber is simply bonded on the metal backing. I did my previous viper (05) by simply getting a generic blade and slicing the rubber portion. That was followed by a careful peel of the viper blade, cleaning and bonding on the generic. Having some adhesive savvy, I applied...
Since I've seen this issue b4, I went to Lowes and had them do a standard copy for a couple bucks and stuck it in an inconspicuous place for such an event. Of course, I have to rewind my memory banks to make sure I don't forget where I hid it:rolaugh:

But my son told me that he's always had this and he just lived with it. It doesn't matter whether it's a few hours or days, the action is the same. I'd figure a weak battery would accentuate on standing dormant but it doesn't change the outcome.
My 06 with Paxton barely idles at 500, or less, and if I don't tap the pedal, it will stall. Once it's run a bit all is well. Any ideas? This was the same experience that my son had with it and he just accepted it. I didn't see this until recently so I don't know if it's something more evolving...
