Re: Session is live
I would like to do a few things to increase performence, one was an exhaust noted in an earlier post. The other I have been thinking about is a K&N Box. In your opinion, what are the top three or four mods to make without decreasig reliability, yet giving a little...
Re: Session is live
Thank You.... I am thinking about putting the EBC Green Brake Pades on all four wheels of my 05 SRT-10. I put them on the front of my Prowler and love the fact that it cut down on dust 95%. As stated in a previous post, I do not intend to Race the car, but rather street...
Re: Session is live
Thank you very much. I want to put either the Mopar Street Exhaust or the Mopar Track Exhaust on the car as well. I am being told that the Mopar Street Exhaust is the best bet if I do not plan on racing the car. (I do not). Did SRT test the Mopar Street Exhaust and does it...
Re: Session is live
I just purchased a 2005 Copperhead with 134 miles. My ViperTech says to drain the Mobile 1 and put in regular Motor oil (10-40) for the first 1000 miles - claims it will seat the rings better than the Mobile one and I'll get far more power out of the Engine. Comments ...
My SRT-10 has just 520 miles on it and does the same thing..... first to second almost seems like I didn't push the clutch in enough. My old RT/10 was similar.

Mine is supposed to be guaranteed for 5 years against cracking. peeling. discoloration etc..... just put it on. So we will see. The first set on the sills had to be replaced as moisture trapped under it started to Boil. So this time I waited a week before fireing it up to allow the moisture...
1) I paid $350 to have the side sills and the rear quarters done. He told me I could drive it immediately. I did and I had boiling water in the Sills. Ouch ! He came out and did them over for me for free. Let this stuff dry before you take the car out ! He had no idea how hot these side sills...
I just had a guy fron Cinci install mine - my 2001 Side Sills got destroyed.
The GenIII clear bra templates are pre cut and go from the indentation in the fender (right below the emblem) to just wrapping around he side sill and go the length of the sill. And there is a template behind the rear...
Mark,
I had to take mine out this evening after reading your post - It is around 35 degrees in Dayton right now. They slip and slide all over when the tires and pavement are cold. And up here it lasts a while..... I drove my 2001 hard numerous times but the 2005 has just 490 miles on it so I...
Mark,
Glad your OK. I did ALOT of research on the Viper before I bought one. I have a friend in the Prowler club who has owned a bunch of Vipers and knows them well. I sold a Tri-Power 4 Speed GTO to get the Viper. Read what he wrote me in May of 05 after I purchased my first Viper:
...yes...
Wayne,
And from what I've seen, you have made some pretty cool Mods to your copperhead. Kala on the Prowler site sent me some pictures of your Copperhead and the Interior Mods - looks great.
John
I have seen the strpies in person on a coupe here in Dayton and it looked fantastic. Has anyone seen the Copperhead with black Fang stripes ? I bet that would be killer on the SRT-10. Would love to see Pics.
John
I love the color and believe it will be timeless. I also have an Orange Prowler which is brighter but none the less Orange.
I owned a beautiful Blue 2001 RT/10 before I bought the copperhead. The car flat out gets tremendous comments. The GEN III cars can benefit from colors like the...
I'm having it put on the side sills this weekend. They have a pattern for the front sills and the rear behind the wheels. My installer told me that he has put it on Vipers and that he recomends a second strip under the sills (the very underneath of the car) to protect it.
I had an 01 R/T...
Saw a copperhead coupe today with full stripe package from DC. Beautiful car. I have an SRT-10 and think that the Fang Stripes would look great on the Copperhead SRT-10. Has anyone done this ? Any Pictures ?
Thanks,
John
Well,
That one came from a gentleman who has been in the VCA for 9+ years so that is why I asked. All this seems like witchcraft but had to ask if I am hearing from what would seem to be credible sources. Mobil one is still in the car.
Thanks,
John
That was my thinking - $90,000 car and the builder puts the wrong (at least not the most efficient) motor oil in it from the start ? It was hard for me to imagine. I was told by another VCA member that a gentleman by the name of Tom Hayden knows Oils extremely well and recomends Diesal oil. So...
First Post - I searched everywhere in this board for the answer to this question and could find very little.
Traded in a 2001 RT/10 for an SRT-10. Visited a frind of mine who told me I should drain the Mobil One and put in 10W30 weight Motor Oil for the first 1000 miles or so to seat the Rings...
