xPlease help! What is wrong with my viper? Bought '05 Viper new. Motor runs rough at lower RPM's, drops a cylinder often and randomly, felt and heard through drivetrain, I'm not lugging the car, In stop and go traffic you can go no lower than first gear and stay with the pace. AFTER 5 OR 6 LIGHT I WANT TO SELL THE CAR! I have already been to a Viper tech, with no luck.
xThank you very much. I want to put either the Mopar Street Exhaust or the Mopar Track Exhaust on the car as well. I am being told that the Mopar Street Exhaust is the best bet if I do not plan on racing the car. (I do not). Did SRT test the Mopar Street Exhaust and does it make a difference in your opinion in Power/Sound ?
Sincerely,

x Wolfgang please send us, directly, the last 8 of your VIN to "SRTengineer" and hopefully we can help you out.I purchased a 2005 SRT 10 and I am concerned about the quality of the vehicle. In the first year of ownership, Dealer replaced convertible top frame, window motors, hood because of cracks in the paint and had to repaint it. Also, I had a problem with a noise in the drive train and transmission. After contacting DC, the Service Rep never inspected or test drove the vehicle and I was told that this was a normal condition. Chrysler cannot find anyone from Chrysler to inspect the powertrain and test drive my vehicle to address my concern. Are there any problems with the power transmission and differential or any service bulletins? The problem I still have with the vehicle is that the paint does not match "race yellow". I need force to open the convertible top, driver's window is not closing completely, and there is the noice in the drive train. Would appreciate any comments and/or a recommendation to a competent dealer where I could have a DC Rep inspect my vehicle. Thank you. Wolfgang Schulz, Bradenton, Florida.
I have the 2005 Yellow Fever VCA edition SRT-10. New it had the "Dreaded Shock Rattle" when hitting bumps. The aftermarket shock bolts helped some, but I still get some of the "rattle". My 2003 SRT-10 had non of this. What changed and what can you recommend to eliminate it?

xThere have been recommendations by some on the SRT10 forums that inflating the stock run-flats to 33-34 psi would maximize the footprint, and that lower pressure than this will load the sidewalls more than the center of the tire. Have you done any testing with run-flat tire pressures that substantiates this claim? What pressures would you recommend for track events?
xAlthough I've had many performance cars, I'm new to Vipers. I just purchased a 2003 with 10,000 miles and have been concerned with how much erratic pull I have to fight from the front wheels hitting irregularities in the road surface. The worst are the ruts left at intersections near the white stop lines. It's like a bad video game. I asked the Viper mechanic at the local Dodge dealer and he blamed it on wide tires (they are stock). On a smooth highway, the car feels twitchy- I assuming because of the fast steer, but otherwise OK. Any thoughts?
Regarding the SRT8/LX platform cars(copied for a friend)
Is ESPs intervention in a turn based on a G-limit, or a G-change rate? Meaning that wheanever I hit .8 Gs lateral , HAL steps in, or is it how fast I hit that .8?
The numbers are made up and meaningless, but the point is that if my turn is smooth, and the change from 0-.8Gs takes .8 milliseconds, as oppposed to me yanking the wheel and hitting .8 in .3 milliseconds, is HAL not going to intervene?
I suspect that its the latter, that rate of change is a crucial part of HALs trigger. This knowledge could lead to a better understanding of how to drive faster with ESP engaged in different modes.

Can someone provide "us" / VCA / Jay-IVR with final M.Y. Viper producton numbers / colors for 2005 and 2006? We have a good handle on everything 1992 - 2004, but then pretty much ZIP after that. There are so many special editions and combos avail ( a good thing ) that its getting more difficult to keep track.... BEFORE THE DATA IS LOST !!!
THANKS

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Is there something that can be done with the vipers current redline rpm without extensive engine modifications, balancing, cam change, etc. Within reason of course. I currently have the pcm, exhaust, 3.55 gears.
Jim
I have a question per the LX vehicles and the 1-2 shift hesitation problem... a couple months ago you guys stated that the release of a Flash/TSB was "imminent"... any update on when we can expect the bulletin?
xThank You.... I am thinking about putting the EBC Green Brake Pades on all four wheels of my 05 SRT-10. I put them on the front of my Prowler and love the fact that it cut down on dust 95%. As stated in a previous post, I do not intend to Race the car, but rather street cruise, pleasure drives and of course spirited country driving. Once warmed up, are these pads Ok in your mind to put on the Viper ? LOVE the 05's brakes over my 2001. You did a great job..... I want a clean car but one that will stop well too... Advice ?

xI have a 96' RT/10 and seem to have my idle hang problem coming back. I have cleaned the IAC and regrounded the TPS at the PCM and at the sensor itself. I have reset the PCM, but the problem comes back in a few miles. Idle hang is not constant, but I'd say 50% of the time. Car is stock motor wise. Any suggestions on what to try?
Why has SRT shied away from forced induction on their engines? The only turbo is on the SRT-4 cylinder engines. Why not turbo or supercharge a v-8 or a v-10 ?
