Re: Confused Newbie deciding between 2001 GTS ACR and 1996 GTS ...Man this is tough!!
As many have stated...what do YOU want. I saw my first viper in 1999 and wanted one ever since. Once I got the funds and made the final decision to pursue a purchase, I did the research and decided what I...

Who cares if it's collectible, What *ucking Ever! Drive the damn thing. Get the 2001...but try to get a better deal. The 2001 is 5 years newer with ABS. The viper purists will always say...insert annoying...
I read a hell of a lot of threads about changing the coolant before I did it. I remember some stating that the bleed plug could be easily stripped. I don't have any first hand experience with the bleed plug, but those posts scared me off. Here's a picture before I changed the water pump...
Roe. I'd suggest also installing the ROE Upper Radiator Hose Bleeder Kit. It makes changing the coolant much easier.
Here's mine installed. I painted it red to match (after it was installed, just painted the protruding piece)...
There are numerous threads on this topic as it's a common problem. I wouldn't think you'll have any additional problems based on your description of the incident. You'll find that the IPSCO replacement pulley and bracket are the most popular among viper owners. Here are a few of the...

I just finished hunting around for 'how to' videos on the internet, but they were all for wrapping the exteriors of cars. Do you have any links to how to use this 3M product on small parts like what you did?
You can use the info from these two threads to get the center console off.

Fixed my cracked center console
I'm not sure that you'l be able to tell what kind of shifter you have by looking at the top of it, but this is what it looks like under the center console...
...glad you're okay. The whole story was ripe for something bad to happen...new owner, wet conditions, deer...another one bites the dust. Good luck if you decide to purchase another one.
Steve...I also don't understand your need to post these pictures of your failed GEN II splitter project. You sent me these pictures a while back trying to sell me one, as usual it hasn't come to fruition. It has zero bearing on the project that Dave has undertook to create a GEN II splitter...
